**What's the role?
**
Etsy is looking for a passionate Senior QA Engineer to join our established Mobile App Engineering organization.
In this role you will work within our App Platform initiative to enable app engineering to deliver high quality experiences for Etsy buyers and sellers.
You will collaborate with other motivated testers, product partners, designers and engineers across multiple fields to support our family of apps.
Our growing team requires someone who will thrive developing novel solutions to unbounded problems that can improve the lives of both Etsy users and engineers alike.

- You'll be joining a QA team that focuses on enabling app engineers to rapidly ship new features free of defects.
- QA members directly embed with other app engineering teams to provide a spectrum of quality support from project inception to delivery.
- We believe in measuring everything, taking advantage of our pioneering continuous deployment system to ship code early and often, and a blameless culture based on trust and a commitment to learning.
- Our product engineering teams have shipped projects using the latest advances in ARKit, shipped our first App Clip the day iOS 14 released, and have even had the opportunity to have their work featured at WWDC.
**What does the day-to-day look like?
**
- Interact with teams at the beginning of the software development lifecycle to ensure a quality strategy is in place for all new features.
- Work closely with Product Owners and Engineering counterparts to translate acceptance criteria for new features into well balanced test plans to execute upon.
- Provide a variety of in-depth testing techniques to ensure new features are released as defect free as possible.
- Organize and facilitate team based testing sessions to assess product readiness of new features.
- Contribute to daily team ceremonies including standups, backlog grooming, sprint planning, retros and more.
- Triage issues to determine the priority and severity and ensure they are routed to relevant teams.
- Communicate with on-call teams to highlight any issues which may cause instability for production level releases.
- Develop and maintain a robust suite of regression tests.

**Qualifications**:
**You will do well if you**:
- Have a successful track record of both writing and executing test cases and plans considering the "big picture" across a range of problem sets.
- Able to investigate, triage, document, and communicate complex issues in a clear and concise manner.
- Lead with questions, curiosity, and kindness while being an excellent communicator.
- Are comfortable saying "I don't know", doing research,
and returning with options complete with trade offs.
- Have a deep understanding of the complexities of a mobile ecosystem including the nuances of both the iOS & Android operating systems.
- Have experience with mobile tooling such as ADB, Emulators, Charles Proxy, Postman, and more from the QA perspective.
- Able to work with cross-functional teams.
- Have hands-on experience with automated testing frameworks and tooling, preferably in a mobile app context.
