Job Responsibilities:
Overview:
The Analytics Specialist is a key member of Welocalize's analytics team, responsible for using data to deliver high-quality, value-added insights that inform business decisions across the organization.
This role works both proactively and reactively to produce high-impact data analyses and actionable reporting, engaging closely with stakeholders at all levels of the organization to translate their requirements into technical specifications, and collaborating with our Data Engineering team as needed.
With a strong foundation in SQL, PowerBI, and familiarity with ETL processes,
the Analytics Specialist leverages advanced technical data capabilities and a consultative, outcome-focused approach to deliver measurable business value to the company.
Main Duties:
Data Analysis and Reporting:
Working individually or as part of a working group, contribute to and/or drive analytics initiatives to support business needs and drive measurable performance.
Work on both a proactive and reactive basis in support of all business functions, leveraging knowledge of the business, SQL and DAX to devise queries, measures and visualizations that address complex business questions and support decision making.
Generate reports and dashboards in PowerBI as a key output of analytics activities, driven by stakeholder requirements and business priorities.
Deliver high-impact, sustainable, purpose-driven data products within Welocalize's certified reporting infrastructure, containing data visualizations that are clear, interactive, efficiently constructed, and effective in delivering insights.
Stakeholder Engagement and Proactive Insights:
Act as a consultative partner to internal stakeholders by engaging proactively to understand their data needs and translate business problems into analytical solutions.
Deliver original insights based on data analysis that help improve business outcomes and support key performance indicators (KPIs) and objectives & key results (OKRs).
Collaboration with Data Engineering and Technical Teams:
Collaborate closely with the Data Engineering team to define & scope requirements for ETL pipelines and data flows, ensuring alignment with analytics & business needs.
Support the validation and troubleshooting of ETL processes and data pipelines, working alongside Data Engineers to ensure data integrity and accessibility for reporting.
While direct ETL development is not required, familiarity with the processes will be helpful in understanding data flows,
incorporating new data assets into our Data Lake and Data Warehouse, and supporting the ongoing development of our data infrastructure.
Data Management and Quality Assurance:
Contribute to the continuous evolution of data as a core business asset at Welocalize, working as a steward for data integrity and accuracy, and being diligent while preparing reports and analysis in identifying potential issues or opportunities for improvement.
Engage and collaborate proactively with our Data Quality & Governance Lead to define and support related initiatives.
Assist in maintaining and evolving data models, ensuring that they are designed for long-term scalability and ease of use for reporting and insights generation.
Continuous Improvement & Innovation:
Stay current with emerging data analytics trends and tools to continuously enhance reporting capabilities and improve data accessibility.
Proactively explore potential applications of new AI technologies, especially LLMs, to enhance the value-added by data and analytics across the organization.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field strongly preferred; equivalent experience acceptable.
Minimum of 2 years experience in data analytics, with a demonstrated ability to deliver on complex analytical projects.
Expertise in data visualization tools, especially Microsoft PowerBI, and proficiency in SQL is required; proficiency with Python, R or other similar technologies is preferred.
Familiarity with ETL processes and data warehousing concepts is highly preferred but not required to perform development.
Ability to collaborate with engineering teams on data flows and ETL processes.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to convey complex technical information in a clear and concise manner both verbally and in writing.
Capability and comfort engaging with stakeholders across all levels of the organization, including senior executives.
A proactive, problem-solving mindset with the ability to anticipate stakeholder needs and deliver high-impact data solutions.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, and deadline-driven environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously, with the ability to identify and communicate constraints in advance instead of after missing deadlines.
