Reporting to the Engineering leader, the Sr. Software Developer in Test will be part of the engineering team that focuses primarily on building robust, scalable, and high-quality test automation solutions to continuously validate the quality of the cross-cutting features produced for the Public Sector initiative.
He or she will collaborate with energetic teams of Developers, Business Analysts, Test Engineers and Technical Product Managers throughout the development process to ensure high quality deliverables.
The Sr. Software Developer in Test is adept in the arenas of both Test Engineering and Software Development.
He or she will also consult the Test Operations team on test automation framework, tooling,
and test execution strategies to promote good coding standards and quality test creation.
What you'll get to do Take ownership of product quality and release readiness.Creation of test plans and test cases in TFS/ADO using BDD specifications and Gherkin Syntax to assess the product features against the requirements.Develop and leverage test automation frameworks to automate test cases against code base and to enforce high product test coverage.Collaborate with the engineering team early to inject testing and pipeline automation (CI/CD).Participate in DevOps process ensuring tests execute reliably and efficiently.Triage with development and DevOps to quickly identify and resolve test failures in automation.Identify, share, and nurture the adoption of best practices in code health, testing, testability,
and maintainability.Provide leadership in continuous quality improvements for the product and processes.Participate in design and architectural discussions to understand testability and automation test impact of new features.Contribute to extension and communication of test automation best practices.Help ensure new code moves easily through our deployment pipeline.Skills and Experience we value University degree in Computer Science or related field.5+ years of experience in enterprise software development.Strong experience in management and execution of Black Box, Integration, System, Functional, UI testing, API testing, Web Services testing (SOAP, REST, OData), WCF testing and Regression testing of various applications.Solid experience creating and maintaining test automation frameworks using tools such as Selenium, FitNesse,
SpecFlow and/or Cucumber.Knowledge of object-oriented design and development.Working experience with C# and .NET Framework.Proficiency with SQL and an understanding of relational database system.Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.Understanding of software engineering best practices for the full software development life cycle, including agile software development.A self-motivated team player with an interest in continuous learning.Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.Strong agile skillset and experience working in an Agile Development environment.Excellent analytical skills, passion for solving hard problems, and knows how to have fun!Has a systematic problem-solving approach,
coupled with effective communication skills and a sense of drive.Has a high level of self-awareness.What would make you really stand out Experience with or desire to work in an agile development environment (Scrum).Experience with SaaS product companies is a plus.Experience with a variety of web application development and testing technologies.Experience instrumenting CI/CD pipelines.Hiring Manager: Gowth Kanagaratnam
