The base pay for this role depends on location, experience, and skills.Mexico (MXN 836,400 - MXN 1,100,000)Reporting to the Senior Engineering ManagerAs a Senior Backend Engineer, your responsibilities will include: Designing and implementing scalable, multi-tenant backend services and APIs.Working with technologies such as Node.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, MongoDB, GraphQL, Apollo, AWS EC2, S3, Lambdas, Kafka, and more.Bringing deep expertise in multiple technical areas.Contributing to the functional strategy of the team.Leading projects that contribute to the team's deliverables.Writing high-quality, maintainable,
tested, and scalable code.Creating and collaborating on design documents.Influencing technical designs and prioritization at the team level.Collaborating with product managers and designers in a supportive and autonomous environment.Mentoring junior engineers in technical skills and company culture.Engaging in activities like co-authoring engineering blogs, enhancing hiring processes, and leading internal hackathon teams.About you: You'll excel in this role if you:
Have 5+ years of experience developing and deploying web applications, with a proven record of delivering code.Are familiar with Node.js and TypeScript, and can build scalable services and APIs using Express.js, GraphQL, Apollo, and MongoDB.Can debug production issues across various services and layers of the stack.Have experience building complex web systems.Have used testing frameworks such as Jest, Mocha, Playwright, or Cypress.Thrive in an agile, safe-to-fail environment.Our Core Behaviors: Obsess over customer experience: We deeply understand what we're building and who we're building for.
