**What is KLAR doing?**
Klar is working hard to bring digital banking to everyone in Mexico.
- What is so special about digital banking?_
Traditional banks have overhead costs per customer that make it unprofitable for them to serve people with smaller deposits or who live in remote areas. By bringing down the cost of banking, Klar is working towards making it possible for the people who need it most to get access to a line of credit to carry them through a rough week or help them grow their own small business.
We are a co-located company with Offices in Ciudad de México, México and Berlin, Germany.
**This position is based in Ciudad de México, México.** While we support flexible working arrangements (home office,
periodic remote work) we focus our time zones on Berlin and Mexico City and value a strong team culture with the possibility to meet up for in-person meetings and informal social gatherings.
**What you will be doing**:
- Prepare tax returns, payments, necessary paperwork, and reports.
- Assess and research difficult tax issues to identify solutions.
- Manage and maintain the company’s tax database.
- Determine tax savings and recommend strategies to improve profits.
- Ensure you comply with regulations by forwarding required information to federal, state, and local authorities.
- Offer support and guidance during audits.
- Evaluate tax regulations and suggest policies that diminish tax burden.
- Keep track of industry trends and changes related to taxes.
- Prepare accurate monthly and annual tax reports.
**What we look for**:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
- 4-5 years as a Tax Accountant or similar role.
- Knowledge of MS-Excel (formulas, pivot tables, macros, etc).
- Knowledge of ERP.
- Knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping procedures.
- Knowledge of financial services tax reporting (preferred)
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal, a strong desire to learn, and an ability to prioritize projects in a fast-paced company that is going through substantial growth.
- Excellent analytical skills.
- Eye for detail, process oriented mindset and structured approach.
- Capacity to work to tight timeframes, with a natural ability to manage competing priorities and a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative.
- A demonstrated ability to work independently, and solve problems in a fast-paced environment, and have fun working in a team.
- Fluent in English.
