**PRIMARY FUNCTION**
The Lead Compliance Analyst will be a member of the ES-America’s (ES-A) compliance team which is focused on driving internal control efforts throughout the business. The role will focus mainly on operations within the Latin America geographic region. The incumbent will help set and ensure adherence with Eaton policy, internal control standards, and U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). The compliance team serves as a business partner to the divisions and plant teams. The Analyst will support accurate and timely reporting to Group management on control initiatives.
**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS**
- Support the 2nd level balance sheet review (BSR) program for the business. Activities include:




- Monitor the BSR calendar to ensure timely completion of reviews.
- Shadow BSR performed in the region.
- Track the remediation of control deficiencies and work closely with management to ensure timely resolution of issues.
- Drive and guide sites on closure of control deficiencies.
- Provide support and drive key ES-A compliance processes, including (but not limited to): segregation of duties & access reviews, balance sheet reviews, reconciliation procedures, etc.
- Provide assistance with monthly testing of sales orders to support revenue recognition control requirements. To include: selecting sample, requesting documents, follow-up procedures, etc.
- Perform control reviews and risk assesements over operations mainly within the Latin America geographic region.
- Prepare sites for internal and external audits.
- Work with the site teams on the remediation of audit gaps (i.e. Internal Audit, SOX, EY) to ensure issues are closed timely and corrective actions are implemented.




- Serve as a temporary resource and provide direct assistance to sites in the completion of key compliance and accounting requirements during periods of employee turnover or resource shortage.
- Support other Group level compliance initiatives, and/or financial process improvements, as required.
- Complete ARCS quality review testing on selected balance sheet reconciliations monthly.
- Analyze month-over-month balance sheet account variances to identify and explain discrepancies.
- Serve as the liaison with EY staff on ES-A/ site documentation requests.
- Perform special projects related to compliance on an as-needed basis.

**Qualifications**:
**SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE**
- Basic Qualifications:_




- Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or Finance from an accredited institution required.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in accounting, finance policy and internal control standards.
- Position Criteria:_
- Spanish speaking preferred as the position will focus on operations within ES-A that are located in Latin America geographically region.
- Demonstrated verbal and written interpersonal communication skills
- Basic understanding of financial business processes (INV, OTC, PTP, RTR)
- Proven project management skills
- Flexibility to anticipate and react to changes
- Strong knowledge of internal controls
- Advanced desktop analytic skills (Excel skills are a necessity)
- Understanding of Eaton financial systems and standards preferred
- Multi-cultural awareness and experience beneficial
- Travel up to 30%

- MBA
- Accounting experience within a global manufacturing plant, or public accounting experience
