The Bank for International Settlements has an exciting opportunity for a Research Analyst at the Representative Office in Mexico City.
**Purpose of the role**:In this role you will work with the Bank's economists and support innovative research.
As part of a diverse and highly qualified team, you will collect, process and analyse statistical and econometric data from a range of sources including central banks, supervisory authorities and international organisations.- Creating graphs and tables for use in publications and at key meetings of senior decision-makers to discuss global financial topics.- Maintaining statistical databases for internal and external use,
and providing solutions to issues related to large data sets and firm-level data.- Conducting data quality control to ensure that data meet the highest standards.- Conduct econometric analysis with BIS economists.- Read and extract information from academic and central bank publications.
**Qualifications, skills, and experience**:- experience using econometric software packages- knowledge of statistical concepts applied in finance and/or economics- good spoken and written English- experience in retrieving data from sources such as Bloomberg and Datastream- experience using statistical packages/tools/libraries (eg Eviews, Stata, Matlab, Python or R) would be an advantage- strong data skills**Who we are**:We are an international organisation that supports central banks' pursuit of monetary and financial stability through international cooperation, and acts as a bank for central banks.
