Lead Software Engineer - Full stack/Frontend
We are looking for a Lead Software Engineer - Full stack/Frontend with strong React and Front End skills to join our Digital team. This challenging position requires someone to think independently, lead, and work well collaboratively across multiple disciplines, including working with a variety of technology stacks as required. About the Role:
- Lead multiple and/or significant projects, programs, and business initiatives, demonstrating creativity and ingenuity.
- Deliver end-to-end technical solutions and solve complex problems that may be ambiguous in nature.
- Determine work priorities based on general direction from managers.
- Support and develop software engineers by providing advice, coaching, and educational opportunities.
- Provide specialist advice to middle and senior management to resolve complex issues.
- Recommend modifications to the daily operations of the assigned work group/team. Make needed adjustments to short-term priorities.
- Interact with direct team of accountability, peers, and/or managers in other teams.
- Show passion for efficiency and collaboration, with a history of establishing great relationships.
- Demonstrate commitment and drive for quality, technical excellence, and results.
- Model curiosity and display passion to constantly learn new things.
- Communicate with product and business teams to gather and analyze business requirements and translate them into technical design and prepare functional/technical specification documents.
- Research and identify new software technologies that can be leveraged to improve application performance and development efficiency, reducing cost and maintaining quality,
working closely with development leads.
- Develop Fullstack, high resilience, low latency information management and processing systems in the tax and legal domains.
- Provide creative and elegant solutions to complex problems.
- Prepare technical specifications and documentation.
- Participate in internal team and status meetings, in project planning sessions with team members to analyze development requirements, provide design options, and provide work breakdown and estimates of work.
- Participate in software releases.
- Work together with your team and other teams to deliver high-grade, performant, well-documented, and resilient features.
- Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to prepare test plans/test cases and define test execution methodology and perform tests. Identify and fix any defects.
- Work together with the system operation team to ensure system stability and maintain high availability.
About You:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience.
- Experience managing code and changes in a team environment, including experience with source control utilities such as Git.
- Experience with web technologies, such as ASP, ASPX, AngularJS, CSS, and HTML5.
- Experience with back-end and cloud technologies, such as Boomi, Java, AWS, and data manipulation.
- Leadership skills with a track record of mentoring, setting technical goals, and delegating tasks.
- Strong troubleshooting and debugging experience.
- Comfortable leading design discussions in addition to hands-on development.
- Experience working and interacting with a geographically and culturally diverse team.
- Mentoring junior developers and translating requirements from business partners.
- Cloud technology experience (e.g., AWS, Azure), or Docker.
