The RoleWe currently have an opening for a Gas Applications Engineer.
This is a customer-facing role that requires self-motivated individuals with consultative and communication skills to implement AspenTech's OSI solutions.




The position is focused on designing, installing, and configuring advanced oil & gas applications for SCADA control systems in upstream, midstream, and downstream operations.
In this position, you will oversee technical aspects of Professional Services for AspenTech's oil & gas utility products in coordination with other AspenTech Engineering staff and customers.
Specific on-the-job training will be provided.
Your ImpactDevelop and execute system build plans accounting for software architecture, information security, and hardware deployment.Work closely with customers to understand their operational needs, provide system training, and configuration to meet their needs.Own the technical Professional Services aspects, including implementation of the overall proposed system design, of AspenTech's products for real-time critical infrastructure control systems.Perform system and acceptance testing with the end customers.Work closely with product development and product management teams to enhance AspenTech's products into the future.Travel to customer sites and work directly with customers to successfully deliver, test, and integrate systems.Represent AspenTech in a superior manner with an excellent attitude.Manage assigned projects with care, concern, and diligence.Be decisive and innovative when resolving issues.What You'll NeedBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Computer Science, or relevant technical field.Experienced project implementation or operational experience, preferably in the utility industry.Proficiency with communicating technical concepts and presenting to customers.Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, including the ability to make clear observations and conclusions based on customer interviews and data.Strong time/project management and organization skills.Ability and flexibility to travel to domestic or international locations (less than 25%).Ability to remain flexible and effective under pressure in a fast-paced environment.Experience working in the operations or engineering group of a gas utility or oil & gas energy provider.Experience working with or deploying real-time control systems including SCADA solutions.3+ years of engineering or oil & gas industry operations experience.Knowledge of computer architectures, databases, and operating systems.Knowledge of IT systems and data center designs.Knowledge of oil & gas measurement principles and hydraulics.About UsIf you're looking to make a difference every day and push the limits of performance,
