Establish relationships with all rail providers: ie.
KCS-M, FXE, UP, CSX, CP amongst others
Collaborate with other Transplace departments
Monitor flow balance (demand and capacity) in the network, as well as to ensure the best capacity procurement (in dray and rail)
Pro-actively identify and communicate issues and solve problems related to each pricing request
Constant and pro-active communication with rail and dray service providers
Maintain Celtic system updated and accurate
Secure a working knowledge of the customer's needs and policies
Develop and negotiate pricing strategies, quotes and proposals with service providers for submission to customers
Act as a liaison to Operations and Sales regarding bids and template generation/ update/ system maintenance
Grow total net revenue margins by identifying pricing actions that encourage higher sale values
Work cross-functionally throughout the organization to ensure that the methods comply with company strategy and maximize profitability
Monitor and update commercial price lists
Work with MX and US dray carriers to find the best rate that fulfill customers' needs
Assist in yield management activities like price increase reviews, schedules, etc to improve overall profitability by upgrading existing business or working with Ops to enhance non-performing freight.
Collaborate with sales to develop bid-reviews and bid-strategies to drive award ratio up.
Work along with sales to improve win ratio by providing market info and feedback on requested rates, sharing details on equipment & flow balance by ramp and equipment with focus on the freight we want and need the most and the markets where we can be more competitive.
Participate in specific projects related to develop new services, rail routes, rail roads, new equipment types, etc.
