**Your team responsibilities**
As a Senior Associate of Index Management Research, you will work closely with our global client base related to index methodology topics.
The MSCI Index Management Research team is part of the MSCI Research and Product Development organization and is responsible for the ownership and evolution of all index methodologies that cover the Equity, Fixed Income and Real Estate asset classes.
The group also is centrally focused on improving product quality through close collaboration with the Product, Client Coverage,
and Technology and Data Services organizations and reports to senior management on all major market and investment trends and their potential impact on the firm's strategic research and product development agenda.
While the role will be cross-asset, and covers our entire suite of index offerings, it will have a focus on the Equity and Fixed Income index product lines.
This role will have primary responsibility for the development of all relevant custom index methodologies.
This will include helping to ensure that our index methodologies remain consistent across markets, that the construct is robust and comprehensive, and that methodologies are dictated by a framework centered on market practice and aligned with client expectations.
Responsibilities such as index policy research, competitive and regulatory landscape analysis, and new product development will all be paramount within this position.
An important facet of the role will also have opportunity to work on key client engagement, which will include significant time interacting directly with our client base both in person (as appropriate) and/or over the phone.

**Your key responsibilities**
- Serve as a central point for client based custom index methodological and research-based queries
- Work closely with other team members to drive operational and technological efficiency across custom index and broader index research processes
- Own and develop index methodologies with focus on consistency, market representation and regulatory compliance
- Formulation of methodological proposals and presentation of market driven client consultations to the relevant MSCI Index Committees
- Work closely with other team members to public client consultations on methodological changes and enhancement
- Ability to clearly communicate to a variety of both internal and external stakeholders.
- Travel, when appropriate, may be required
**Your skills and experience that will help you excel**
- 5-9 years direct or financial industry experience
- Programming (sql, matlab, python ) is desired
- Ability to work on central initiatives independently
- Extensive experience and comfortability with clients will be central to success in the role
- Very good quantitative knowledge and analytical skills
- Advanced degree and/or CFA preferred
- Fluency in English
