**Job Overview**
As the Systems Team Lead at Avantpage, a leading language translation company, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining and enhancing the internal systems that are crucial for our operations. You will be at the forefront of ensuring that our technology infrastructure aligns with our business needs and industry standards.
**Duties and Responsibilities**
- **System Management and Hands-on Expertise**: Lead the deployment, implementation, and maintenance of internal systems, actively contributing your technical expertise. Ensure these systems are scalable, reliable, and efficient to support the company's operations and growth.
- **Team Leadership**: Manage a team of three,
fostering a collaborative environment, and guiding team members in their professional growth and project delivery.
- **Strategic Planning**: Work closely with the Director of Technology to develop and implement strategic plans for system enhancements, integrating new technologies to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- **Project Management**: Lead and coordinate various IT projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
- **Security and Compliance**: Ensure all systems comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements, maintaining the highest levels of data security and privacy.
- **Network Management**:Oversee the design and management of the company's network infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and security.
- **Database Administration**: Manage and optimize the company's database systems, including data storage, retrieval, and backups.
- **Deployment Management**: Lead deployment processes, including software releases and updates, while ensuring mínimal disruption to business operations.
- **Vendor Management**:
Liaise with external vendors and service providers, negotiating contracts and ensuring the services provided meet our quality and cost expectations.
- **Technical Support**: Provide high-level technical support, troubleshooting complex issues, and ensuring mínimal disruption to business operations.
- **Continuous Improvement**: Regularly assess the performance of internal systems, identifying areas for improvement, and staying abreast of emerging technologies that could benefit the company.
**Skills and Qualifications**
- Proven experience (mid-senior level) in managing IT systems and teams, preferably in a language translation or similar industry.
- Strong leadership skills with a track record of managing and developing teams.
- Excellent project management skills,
with an ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Deep understanding of IT systems, including hardware, software, networks, and databases, with the ability to contribute technically.
- Knowledge of data security, best practices, and compliance requirements.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working collaboratively with various internal and external stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Advanced degree or relevant certifications are a plus.
