Job description- HSBC WSB provides tailored financial solutions to institutional clients worldwide (including PS FIs). WSB offers global connectivity and a strong local presence for clients with a diverse array of needs.
- HBMX WSB FIG Portfolio includes c.100MGs of the biggest financial Mastergroups (Central Bank, Development Banks, Financial Groups) with total revenues of c.USD55m mainly through derivatives, issuances & transactional services under a challenging de-risking environment that requires to manage proactively all type of risks.
- HSBC's Financial Institutions Group is the client sector within Global Banking responsible for all aspects of the Group's relationships with financial institutions.




- Our team comprises experienced senior bankers and product generalists, each chosen for their sector-specific expertise and knowledge of global financial markets.
- We provide a wide range of products and services to financial institutions globally, including but not limited to:
- transactional banking services and trade finance,
- credit and lending (including ABFs),
- markets products (including DCM),
- strategic advice and
- capital raising
- Associates are critical, respected members of the Financial Institutions group
- Our team structure is flat - all colleagues report directly to the Team head.
- Associates are given support to prepare for optional professional designations and advanced training such as the CFA.
- All team members have the opportunity to continuously take on new responsibilities and suggest better ways of working.
- Associates will have immediate exposure to revenue generating work and client meetings alongside of senior bankers and will manage directly a complete and diverse portfolio.




- Colleagues on the FIG team gain substantial exposure to all of HSBC’s products, senior leaders and global coverage teams. FIG management supports colleagues’ professional advancement within the team and other parts of HSBC Group.
- The FIG team is currently leading the ABF, ABS, Custody, Asset management, Global Markets and DCM business as the team client generates most of WSB revenues (in previous years we represented 100% of all HBMX ABF & Custody revenues).
- Responsible for client relationships and coordinating strategy, origination, structuring, implementation and execution of all the financial group’s offerings by working closely with product specialists from transaction banking (GPS >S;), markets, investment banking (HBUS), asset management and financing.
- Responsible (in conjunction with colleagues)



for the timely completion and production of the Bank team’s presentations & marketing materials
- Oversight of onshore & offshore Credit Analytics processes as well as acting as liaison between the Front Office (Banking & Markets) and local Credit Risk Management teams (as required)
- Oversight of documentation requests (ISDA, CSA, MRA etc.)
- Ownership of the income forecasting & tracking framework and client relationship management tool for their respective team Sector Coverage Ownership of full client planning pack (Client Profile, Revenue Projections, Man Marking, Strategic Actions, Pipeline)
- Analytics & research in support of idea generation for Senior Coverage Bankers on the team; including proactive coverage of emerging news, opportunities and threats




- Act as primary person on the desk responsible for modeling and submitting documentation to deal committees such as CAC by liaising with portfolio management and appropriate product partners
- Act as primary person on the desk responsible for representing the respective Coverage team on any KYC and or AML due diligence action points
- Act as a back-up to Global Relationship Banker
- In all capacities Associates will work closely with peers and colleagues across the bank (New York and Globally); to ensure the Banks team delivers on its message of Global connectivity and service to our clients
Requirements- Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills: To identify business opportunities, understand client financial needs and strengths as well as develop their portfolio or proactively identify upcoming risks (credit but also financial crime ones).
- Excellent Financial Crime understanding and mitigation:



As this is the riskiest area of the Bank, the team must conduct proactive mitigation under a relentless upgrade approach
- Good Public relations skills: as the GCB5 must be able to connect and emphasize with C-Suite customers (CEO, CFO, etc ) to establish long term and trustworthy relationships.
- A generalist Investment Banking/Corporate Finance background—though any relevant sector experience is a strong plus
- Understanding and anticipating any type of financial and non financial risks (AML, Sanctions, AB&C;).
- Able to model transactions using internal modeling tool; experience in cash flow modeling and valuation analysis is preferred.
- A strong understanding of the financial markets and market trends
- Strong knowledge of KY
