About the Role
In this opportunity as a Director, Travel & Expense Lead,
you will:
OBJECTIVES
1. Build and enhance relationships with T&E; suppliers to achieve exceptional levels of service quality whilst maintaining best-in-class compliance controls. Manage the Corporate Card and Travel Program worldwide including the strategic relationship with the T&E; suppliers involved.
2. Monitor adherence to T&E; policies and conduct regular internal audits. Develop training programs to ensure employees understand and follow guidelines and T&E; policy.
3. Act as the final escalation main point of contact for solving expenses and travel issues, emergencies and grant the appropriate support to the team to solve.
4. Drive and steer transformation initiatives for the T&E; Program. Drive and foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and entrepreneurialism.
5. Develop team members and grow their careers across T&E; and the Centre of Excellence. Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
KEY DELIVERABLES
1. Global T&E; vision and strategy for Thomson Reuters including processes,
policies, and systems for short-, mid- and long-term execution.
2. Communication and training plan to keep TR employees and management informed about the T&E; performance and updates.
3. A fully implemented and operational centralized system and team for T&E; management.
4. Flawless and frictionless customer experience performance for our T&E; Program. Enhanced user experience with mobile and automated solutions and self-service tools.
5. Develop and keep longstanding relationships with our Corporate Card, Airlines, and Hotel Chains suppliers.
6. High compliance rate against the T&E; policy and SOX controls.
About You
You’re a fit for the role if your background includes:
Leadership, Governance and Functional design
1.
Significant experience in solutioning and implementing a T&E; Programs and Policies that delivers solutions and services to a global business.
2. Ability to ensure the effectiveness of the organization through establishing the organizational structure, digital tools, processes, and governance.
3. Proven experience in leading and managing a diverse, multicultural team, ideally distributed across multiple countries.
4. Ability to identify and mitigate risks associated with travel and expense activities, ensuring alignment with corporate governance standards.
5. Proficiency in optimizing end-to-end travel booking processes, including vendor negotiations and partnerships.
6. Proficiency in using data analytics to drive informed decision-making and continuous improvement.
Team, Project, Stakeholder and Vendor Management
1.
Strong experience in coaching and mentoring, helping to develop a T&E; team that has well-rounded knowledge of the industry.
2. Ability to effectively plan, organize and manage resources; and to lead change across the organization to achieve organization-specific goals.
3. Strong ability to drive high performance in the T&E; team by enabling effective collaboration with critical stakeholders and bringing efficiencies in managing the expenses holistically.
4. Building mutually beneficial relationships with colleagues and stakeholders that deliver results through effective collaboration.
5. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced operational changing environment.
6. Ability to exercise independent judgment and recognize the critical impact to the business.
7.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, gravitas and credibility working with senior executives.
8. Excellent (external and internal) relationship management and cross-functional leadership skills.
9. Proven experience in managing relationships with travel vendors, service providers, and technology partners.
