**Job Description**:
**Position Summary**:
A **Jr.
**Cloud Engineer** designs, deploys, operates, and maintains infrastructure and solutions in a public cloud environment using Microsoft Azure.
The Global Portfolio Engineering (GPE) team is part of the Global Sales and Marketing organization and supports our Product, Marketing, Delivery and Training organizations around the world to create a seamless experience for our customers.
Reporting to the Global Manager of the GPE Project Management Office (PMO), you will be working in a truly international environment.
This position was created as the ongoing adoption of cloud technologies that require the GPE team to be ahead of the curve and make efficient and creative use of the existing technology stack as well as adapting to new trends.
Furthermore, it's essential to establish procedures and best practices, to lead the way for the rest of the organization.
**SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Designs
- Internal processes and best practices to simplify and streamline the day-to-day activities.
- Deployment Architectures for various needs (e.g.,
Azure Container Instances, Azure Kubernetes Services )
- Deploys
- Internal Cloud Infrastructure (e.g., CI Servers, Test Systems, Development Systems )
- Customer Facing Cloud Infrastructure (e.g., Demo Sites)
- Operates
- Existing and new deployments and ensure the best possible user experience
- Ensures these deployments comply with internal and external security standards.
- Maintains...
- Existing and new deployments (e.g., SSL certificates, Access requests )
- Acts as the cloud go-to person within our organization and provides support and guidance to individuals
- Collaborates with cross functional teams such as
- Marketing & Partner Technical Enablement organization
- Rockwell IT and external organizations
- Aligns with Project Management Office methods, tools, and procedures
- Evaluates technology options and provides feedback on product features and performance
- Customer centric attitude
- Works on issues of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors
- Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions
- Normally receives little instruction on day-to-day work
- Is a self-sufficient knowledge worker
- Receives guidelines and goals on new assignments and is expected to develop their own plan to achieve these goals
- Ability to manage an ad-hoc team of individuals to meet a project goal
- Willingness to travel and support projects / events (~ 5-10% of working time)

- Practical experience in design / deployment / operation or maintenance of cloud-based solutions in:
- Industrial Automation
- IT
- OT
- Excellent knowledge on the Microsoft Azure technology stack
- Ability to quickly adapt to new tools and technologies
- Be able to work effectively and proficiently with the following:
- Programming experience in
- Java, C#, C++
- JavaScript, TypeScript
- Web Components
- or equivalent
- Familiarity with various Microsoft Technologies
- SQL Server / Reporting Services
- Power BI
- Azure Dev Ops
- Good understanding with core tools / areas such as:
- Networking
- SSL
- Has a Continuous Improvement attitude
- Develops and maintains their skills in their field of expertise independently
- Stays current and conversant with the latest relevant technologies and evolving technologies
- Excellent English language (verbal and written)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills,
the ability to communicate and work with a variety of people not under direct control in a fast-paced team environment.
**Desired Qualifications**:
- Certification(s) on the Microsoft Azure technology stack
- Experience in other cloud technology stacks (such as AWS, GCP) is a plus
- Familiarity with the industrial automation space and the hardware and software products Rockwell Automation offers will be beneficial
