**About this team**:
**About this role**:
**Key tasks and responsibilities**:
- Design, model and test mixed-signal processor-based electronics
- Design and source PCBs; specify and source electronic components; specify and manage firmware
- Develop new lighting controls products from concept to manufacture.
- Simulate control/luminaire device performance in relevant software tools.
- Interfacing with entities inside and outside of Acuity
- Provide technical recommendations to the engineering and luminaire teams during technical reviews
**Required experience and knowledge**:
- 2+ years relevant experience plus the education listed below
- less experience accepted with higher education
- A Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Computer Engineering or equivalent.
(Master's Degree preferred)
- Hardware design of wireless products
- Experience with simulation and modeling tools (Ansys (preferred), Hyperlynx, Sonnet, etc.)
- Experience with schematic capture tools (Altium (preferred), Mentor Graphics, Eagle, etc.)
- Experience with testing tools and equipment: oscilloscopes and network and spectrum analyzers, etc.
- Experience with failure analysis and troubleshooting (oscillation detection and mitigation)
- Able to work independently and multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills
**Preferred experience and knowledge**:
- Experience with high-speed board layout best practices
- Experience leading and managing projects
- Bluetooth, WiFi and sub GHz antenna design and testing
- Experience with UL, FCC, IFETEL testing and certification
- Experienced in digital modulation technologies
**Travel Requirements**:
- 1-20%
