The **Product Development Manager **will be the owner of planning, developing and launching our new products for our portfolio of brands. Product development is one of the key levers for our brands’ growth.
This role will be responsible of the planning, development and execution of our new products, the analysis of trends and categories to understand which products can be disruptive to generate more sales in our brands, the search of new suppliers, coordination of the full supply chain cycle, product launch plan, profitability analysis and pricing assessments, among other key activities around product development.
When selling in retail and in e-commerce, innovation and the launch of new products is key to maintaining competitiveness and growth in each of our brands. The main objective of our product development team is the development of innovative proposals that do not have much competition in the market and that can solve daily problems for our millions of customers who today use products from Quinio brands.
In addition to product development, this position will have a lot of interaction with different internal areas that will have to work together with the product team for the development and launch of our new products.
Among some of the key areas that will have constant involvement are; Marketing for the development of the image and branding of the product, Logistics for the management of imports for products that come from other countries, Sourcing for the efficient search of suppliers and Online Channels for the launch of the products in our different digital channels (Mercadolibre, Amazon, and Shopify, among others)
The product team-members account for a key team within the company since it is estimated that +30% of new sales will come through the development of new products
**Basic Qualifications**
- 3-5 years in consumer retail / ecommerce business preferably in business and operations areas
- Project Management experience running structured well-coordinated projects is a plus
- Experience in product development teams, launching new products is a plus
- Excel/Google Sheet skills
- Excellent communication and people skills: numbers are key, but a business is built with people
- Self-starter: you will take initiative, be dedicated, set and drive toward goals
- Attention to detail: consistent with swift and high-quality execution. We need to do things quickly and we need to do them well
- Previous experience in an e-commerce company helpful
**Key Tasks**
- Responsible for the launch of new products within our brands
- Lead product budget to distribute resources in different projects according to their priority
- Negotiations with suppliers to streamline costs and increase profitability
- Coordination of multiple areas to shorten the launch time of a product from idea to execution.
- Own and execute on multiple major projects
- Innovative, proactive, and passionate approach towards work
- Facilitate and encourage adoption of business standardization processes and best practices
- Effectively prioritize and manage a large volume of projects
